The Songs of Sorabji Concert-Lecture

Award-winning soprano Elizabeth Farnum, virtuoso pianist Margaret Kampmeier and Sorabji scholar Bruce Posner have joined forces for a Concert-Lecture of composer Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji.  Several Sorabji songs have been given their world premieres by Ms. Farnum.  

In addition to the works of Sorabji, examples of the songs of his contemporaries, including Busoni, Medtner, Warlock, Caplet and others are performed.

Ms. Farnum's and Ms. Kampmeier's presentations of the songs are complemented by Mr. Posner's discussions of the composer’s work, his influences, his achievements and his place in music.

These Concert-Lectures celebrate the release of Ms. Farnum's world premiere recording of Sorabji: The Complete Songs for Soprano  (Centaur Records).
